Blocked airflow shortens the life of equipment that was not cheap. And clients do notice: an office where the technology looks under control suggests a business that is under control.
The fix is not expensive and it is done in a visit or two: trace and label everything, re-patch the cabinet properly, remove what is dead, and leave behind a port map so the next person does not have to guess. It stays tidy, because once things are labelled there is no reason to yank anything.
