Someone leaves on Friday
Their Microsoft 365 account is disabled that afternoon. Good. But the WiFi password has not changed since 2023, the VPN uses a shared login, and their access card still opens the back door. Nobody is being careless. The systems were simply never connected.

You need Microsoft 365
The integration works off your existing Microsoft accounts. If you are not on Microsoft 365 yet, that comes first.
Your user list must be tidy
The integration is only as good as the accounts behind it. Cleaning up dormant and shared accounts is usually step one.
Doors need hardware
Access readers and door hardware are a physical install with a real cost. WiFi and VPN sign-in can be done first, on its own.
